Memory loss is a disease that most commonly effects persons older than 65.  Slowly they have trouble doing the activities of daily living like dressing , bathing, eating, walking, managing their financial affairs.  Later as the disease progresses they have severe trouble doing these activities. Some causes are Alzheimers’s, strokes, head trauma, malnutrition, diabetes, high blood pressure, and depression.

 

  1. Who is this course for?  This course is for caregivers of persons with memory loss, such as spouses, children, nurses aids, or nurses.   This course is not a substitute for a primary care doctor, every patient should have a primary care doctor and should be consulted regularly.

 

  1. What are the major topics discussed in this course?  Some of the topics discussed are: how to take blood  pressure and finger glucose,  how to find a good doctor to care for your loved one, what complications do you need to look for, how to care for the caregiver, how to prepare for emergency situations, how to handle insurance paperwork, how to save money on medications.

 

  1. What are Dr Carlos Herrera MD’s qualifications to teach this course?  Dr Herrera is a Harvard Medical School graduate and board certified in Internal Medicine.  He has 32 years experience in teaching families about memory loss.  He is an Internal medicine practitioner in Houston Texas.

How much does the online course cost?  The cost is $399 for about 7 hours of lectures.  If you need help performing the tasks of this course, such as, you need help to perform an assessment of your loved one or for example,  then you can upgrade for $899.   This course is not a substitute for a primary care doctor, every patient should have a primary care doctor and should be consulted regularly.
